So, Who Is Lucky (the poodle)?

In a nutshell

For as far back as she could remember, Hope had a dear friend named Andi. As time went on, the girls became women and became even closer. Eventually Andi got a Standard Poodle named Lucky. Lucky became as much a part of the family as Andi was.  Sadly, both her friend and Lucky have now passed, so  to honor them both we changed our name from Puppy Love Standard Poodles to Lucky's Legacy Standards in March of 2019.

If you'd like the complete story, you can read on below.

THE WHOLE MELANCHOLY "TAIL"

Once upon a time...  (after all, don't all great stories start out that way?)

When I was a little girl of only 7,  I was "forced" into a friendship with another little girl because our big sisters had to watch us when our parents were gone, and THEY were best friends and... well you know how that goes. It turned out to be a good thing though, because it was a friendship that lasted a lifetime.

Unfortunately for my friend, the lifetime was barely 40 years.  My friend Andrea, or Andi, (as well as her big sister)  contracted severe pancreatitis that came with a fatal prognosis. However, Andi was a fighter and she fought a long and hard fight, determined to stick around for her two girls as long as she possibly could.  By her side for the fight was her beloved, beautiful black male Standard Poodle named Lucky. As Andi became more and more ill, Lucky became a frequent visitor at my home and also at my Aunt Deb's house where, after Andi's passing, he went to live out his dog days in comfort and surrounded with love. He eventually retired to Florida which is where, in December of 2019, he passed away after living for almost 17 years.  And never knowing a single day without love. Lucky was the first Standard Poodle I had ever known, and he blew away any preconceptions I might have had.  He also made me (and Steve by default) fall in love with the breed.  In 2013, I found the perfect girl named Gypsy to accompany me, and looked for years for a boy like Lucky to be her paramour.  I finally came across Negan in 2016 on Facebook while I was in the hospital, and less than a day after they released me, we headed to Clanton Alabama to meet him.  We knew he was the one right away, and in 2018, Puppy Love Standard Poodles, which ultimately became Lucky's Legacy,  was begun.

I'm pretty sure both Andi and Lucky would approve!
